PROJECT TITLE: Switchback Trail Gear
IDEA: Create logo concept for an outdoor company
CONCEPT: I love hiking, its one of my favorite things to do. And one of my favorite hiking terms is switchback, You got to have switchbacks on those uphill trails!! I used to have a running joke with a friend of yelling switchback each time we entered one. I felt this is a unique name but something outdoor people could resinate with.
So I wanted to logo to be a switchback…The “S” is a a trail with 2 switchbacks.
I wanted to create a logo that could work as a patch on clothing, feel organic and work with or without the type and allow the type to move and still work with the mark.
The second idea would be a sub logo for the brand used on hats and other gear. I was having fun creating the letters that fit in the circle.
